Bulgaria’s parliamentary elections, which were scheduled for October 20, have been indefinitely postponed after President Rumen Radev refused to sign a decree approving the formation of a caretaker government. Radev is said to have a problem with the decision by his own nominee for caretaker prime minister, Goritsa Grancharova-Kozhareva, to retain Kalin Stoyanov as interior minister. Radev’s refusal to approve Grancharova-Kozhareva’s proposed cabinet means the current caretaker government of Dimitar Glavchev will remain in power until the parliament presents a new shortlist of potential prime ministers.
