Iran Says It Arrests Two Foreigners

Iranian authorities have reportedly arrested two foreigners suspected of posing as journalists to investigate the case of a woman who could face death by stoning on an adultery conviction.

The IRNA news agency quoted judiciary spokesman Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejehi as saying they were arrested while interviewing the son of the woman, Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, whose case has generated widespread international outrage.

Meanwhile, the ISNA news agency quoted Ejehi as saying the two were Germans and had arrived in Iran on tourist visas.
