The international human rights monitoring organization Freedom House has released its list of the world's worst human rights abusers and Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan were listed among the nine countries that were "worst of the worst."
Eight other countries were listed on June 1 as being "on the threshold" of inclusion on the "worst of the worst" list, one of them being Belarus.
Also "on the threshold" was the territory of South Ossetia in Georgia.
