Police in Istanbul have detained self-exiled opposition vlogger Farhat Meimankulyiev (aka Durdyiev) at the Turkmen Consulate’s request, Meimankulyiev's colleagues told RFE/RL. According to the activists, the 30-year-old vlogger was detained on May 19 and transferred to a deportation center in the municipality of Tuzla. Meimankulyiev's colleagues say the vlogger may face arbitrary arrest and torture if deported to Ashgabat. Turkmenistan is one of the most repressive countries in the world.
