Police in Moscow on February 3 detained about two dozen people, many of them from media organizations, at an event led by wives demanding that husbands mobilized to fight in Ukraine be brought back to Russia, according to the Sota news outlet’s Telegram channel. The Way Home action near Aleksandr Garden was timed to coincide with 500 days since Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a "partial mobilization," including conscription, as losses mounted on both sides in Russia's unprovoked invasion of Ukraine that began in February 2022.
