Unknown perpetrators have set a girls' secondary school on fire overnight in Pakistan's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, police officials in the Bannu district said. Bannu district police official Iftikhar Shah said police were investigating and interrogating "from every angle" to catch the perpetrators. A note reportedly threatened "more harm" if the school was not closed down. No group has claimed responsibility, although the Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militant group has targeted girls' and women's institutions in the past.
