Internship opportunity in Ukrainian Service (Translation Focus)

If you wish to make a difference in places where the transition to rule-of-law societies is not yet completed, RFE/RL offers eligible, qualified students the opportunity to engage with professionals and to learn more about our mission. In doing so, you would acquire practical experience with the support of a mentor. Internships are a competitive process and are unpaid.

Our Ukrainian Service is seeking an intern to assist with translation tasks. You may be required to prepare press reviews or conduct research. Another area of possible cooperation is covering the issues of Ukrainian refugees in the Czech Republic.

The internship will last for 3 months (minimum), but the period can be extended.
The intern is expected to be available for at least 4 hours a day (minimum 20 hours a week in total).

You will learn about the work of the Ukrainian Service. The basics of web production and practice translation skills.

Minimum requirements are:

  • Enrolled university student or recent graduate – must be in good standing.
  • An educational background and/or experience in journalism, multimedia, Political Sciences, or PR.
  • Native-level Ukrainian fluency.
  • Competent in the Czech and English languages.
  • Experience with translation is an advantage.
  • Ability to work within the team.
  • Interest and awareness in news and current affairs from RFE/RL’s broadcast regions.
