In comments carried by state telvision, Mottaki said the present atmosphere could provide the "best opportunity" to resolve the nuclear dispute.
But he did not say when Tehran would respond to the package of incentives offered by world powers to persuade it to redirect its nuclear program away from uranium enrichment.
He said any deal would need talks with the five permanent members of the UN Security Council -- the United States, China, Russia, Great Britain and France -- plus Germany, which originally presented the package.
