Vladyslav Yesypenko, a contributor to RFE/RL, has been released after more than four years in custody in Russian-occupied Crimea. He was jailed in March 2021 on charges of espionage and possessing explosives -- accusations that human rights group reject as fabricated. Yesypenko testified in court that he was tortured in custody and pressured into making a false confession.
