Kyiv Mourns Dozens Killed In Russian Attack On Ukraine

A day of mourning was held in Kyiv on August 1 following one of the deadliest Russian attacks on the capital. The strike left at least 31 dead, including 5 children, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Russia launched more than 300 drones and 8 cruise missiles in the attack. Drone attacks have surged in 2025, with more than 4,000 recorded in May, 5,000 in June, and 6,000 in July.
