Saakashvili Heads To Ukraine By Bus After Train Blocked
KRAKOVETS, Ukraine -- Mikheil Saakashvili, the ex-president of Georgia and former governor of Ukraine’s Odesa region, has again changed his strategy for returning to Ukraine and is now attempting to cross the Polish border by road.
Saakashvili and his supporters arrived by bus to the Polish side of the Shehyni border crossing after a failed attempt to reach Ukraine by train from the Polish city of Przemysl to Lviv earlier on September 10.
The state management of the Ukrainian-operated train had banned it from leaving for the border with Saakashvili on board.
An announcement made for passengers on the train said the National Police of Ukraine had informed the rail service that "a person without a permit to enter the territory of Ukraine" was on board. The announcement said, "in accordance with Ukraine's legislation, the train will move on as soon as that person leaves the train."
Saakashvili responded to the move by vowing that he "will not give up" until he crosses the border to challenge an order issued in July by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko that revoked his Ukrainian citizenship.

Khaki-Clad Men, Topless Woman Arrested Ahead Of Saakashvili's Border Crossing Attempt
Ukrainian police arrested a topless woman protester affiliated with the Ukrainian feminist group Femen at Ukraine's Krakovets border checkpoint on September 10. The seminaked protest against "fools without borders" took place as supporters of Mikheil Saakashvili, the former Georgian President and ex-governor of Ukraine's Odesa Oblast, gathered at the border crossing in anticipation of his attempt to enter Ukraine from Poland despite the fact that he has been stripped of his Ukrainian citizenship. Ukrainian police said they had also arrested a group of more than 100 young men wearing camouflage clothing who arrived at the border on foot.
