KABUL -- A suicide bomber riding on a donkey has reportedly killed three NATO soldiers and their Afghan interpreter.
Attaullah Khogyani, a spokesman for the government of Wardak Province, gave details of the July 23 attack to RFE/RL's Radio Free Afghanistan.
He said the bombing targeted a NATO and Afghan military patrol early on that date.
The spokesman said it happened in Wardak's rural Sayed Abad district in the country's east. There was no immediate claim of responsibility.
A NATO statement confirmed a bombing killed three of its soldiers but did not give the victims' identities or nationality.
The majority of NATO troops serving in eastern Afghanistan are American.
At least seven members of the U.S.-led military coalition have been killed in the country this month and nearly 100 have been killed this year.
