A village near Kyrgyzstan's Manas Airport was the scene of a horrific crash early on January 16, when a Turkish cargo plane en route from Hong Kong fell on homes in Dacha-Suu, killing at least 37 people, including the crew and dozens of people on the ground.

At least 37 people have been confirmed killed, with that number likely to rise. According to RFE/RL's Kyrgyz Service, all but four of the fatalities were people on the ground when the aircraft slammed into the village at around 7:30 in the morning.
