Gunmen Kidnap German Woman In Kabul

(RFE/RL) August 18, 2007 -- Afghanistan's Interior Ministry says a German woman has been kidnapped by four gunmen in the capital Kabul.

The woman, believed to be employed by an aid organization, was seized from inside a restaurant and pushed into a waiting car.

Roadblocks were set up around the city in attempt to track down the car.

The incident comes as the extremist Taliban militia is holding hostage 19 South Koreans and a 62-year-old German man.
