Turkmenistan Releases Czech Military Plane

December 3, 2006 -- A Czech military plane has returned to Prague after authorities in Turkmenistan held it overnight at Ashgabat airport.

The Czech CTK news agency reports Turkmenistan blocked the plane because there was an armed bodyguard on the flight, which was transporting Czech military and political officials home from Afghanistan.

CTK says the guard's weapon led to a discrepancy in the submitted list of weapons on the plane.
